Adding a Domain Alias (Parked Domain) in cPanel

A Parked Domain, which is also referred to as a Domain Alias, enables you to point a second domain name to the content of your primary website. When a visitor enters the URL of the parked domain into their browser, they will automatically view the identical content that is hosted on your main site.

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. **Access your cPanel Account.**
Log in to your cPanel control panel interface. This is typically accessed by appending /cpanel to your domain name (e.g., yourdomain.com/cpanel).
  2. **Navigate to the Domains Section.**
Scroll down the page and find the Domains category. Within this category, click on the Aliases link (this may also be labeled as Parked Domains, depending on your cPanel theme).
  3. **Specify the Domain Name to Park.**
On the Aliases page, locate the section used for creating a new alias. Enter the exact domain name you wish to park (for instance, example-alias.com) in the dedicated input field.
  4. **Finalize the Addition.**
Click the Add Domain button to submit the request and create the new domain alias. A confirmation message will appear once the domain has been successfully parked.

Important Note on DNS Configuration:

This process will only successfully link the new domain if that domain's Domain Name Servers (DNS) are already pointing to the same hosting server as your primary domain. If the DNS has not been updated, the domain alias will fail to function correctly until the DNS propagation is complete.
