How to Create a Subdomain Using cPanel

This document outlines the required steps for creating a subdomain, such as blog.yourdomain.com, which allows you to host separate content under your primary domain name.

Step 1: Locating the Subdomains Tool

  1. Log in to your cPanel control panel.
  2. In the cPanel main interface, find the Domains section and click on the Subdomains link.

Step 2: Defining the Subdomain Details

  1. Enter the desired name for the subdomain in the designated field. Then, specify the Document Root. The Document Root is the folder that will store the website files for the subdomain. This folder resides within your main domain's root directory and is what the server will load when the subdomain is accessed. The website hosted at subdomain.yourdomain.com can also be accessed via yourdomain.com/subdomain.

Step 3: Finalizing Creation

  1. Click the Create button to finalize the setup and activate the new subdomain.
The subdomain is now ready for content upload and public access.
