How to Block an IP Address from Accessing Your Website
If you need to prevent a specific user or range of users from accessing your website for security or moderation reasons, the most effective method is to block their IP address using the IP Deny Manager in cPanel.
Step 1: Accessing the IP Deny Manager
- Log in to your cPanel control panel.
- In the cPanel main interface, locate the Security section and click on the IP Deny Manager link.
Step 2: Entering the Address to Block
- In the IP Deny Manager tool, enter the specific IP address or a range of IP addresses (using CIDR notation or wildcards) that you wish to block from accessing your site.
Step 3: Activating the Ban
- Click the Add button. The entered IP address or range will immediately be blocked from accessing your website.
The IP address is now successfully blocked. Users from this address will receive an access denied error.
