How to Permanently Delete a MySQL Database in cPanel

This procedure shows you how to remove an existing database from your cPanel account. Please note that this action is irreversible and will permanently destroy all data stored within the selected database.


Step 1: Accessing the Database Management Tool

  1. Start by logging in to your cPanel control panel.
  2. Navigate to the Databases category and click on the MySQL Databases link to open the management screen.

Step 2: Selecting the Database for Removal

  1. On the MySQL Databases page, scroll down to the Current Databases section. Locate the database you wish to delete from the list, and then click the Delete Database link associated with that database name.

Step 3: Confirming Deletion

  1. A confirmation screen will appear. To permanently execute the removal and delete all tables and data within the database, click the Delete Database button one final time.
Warning: Deleting a database cannot be undone. Ensure you have a backup of the data if it is needed later.
