A **Domain Alias** (sometimes called a **Parked Domain**) is a handy cPanel feature that allows a secondary domain name to load the exact same website content as your primary domain. For example, if you own both example.com and example.net, you can set example.net as an alias so that anyone visiting it will automatically see the content from example.com.
This is great for handling common typos, multiple TLDs (like .com and .net), or rebranding without changing your entire hosting structure.
Alias Creation Steps
- **Log into your cPanel dashboard.** (This is typically done via yourdomain.com/cpanel).
- In the **Domains** section, click the **Aliases** icon.
- Under **Create a New Alias**, enter the secondary **Domain name** you want to point to your main site (e.g., mybiz123.info).
- Click **Add Domain**.
Once the Alias is set up, anyone who browses the secondary domain will be automatically redirected to your main website.
Important Note on DNS
Before creating the alias in cPanel, ensure the **secondary domain's Nameservers** are pointing to your hosting provider. The alias will not function correctly until the DNS propagation is complete.
