How to Create a Subdomain in cPanel Print

  • 0

This guide provides step-by-step instructions on how to create a new subdomain using the Subdomains tool in your cPanel dashboard.

Subdomain Creation Steps:

  1. Log into your cPanel dashboard.
  2. In the Domains section, click the Subdomains icon.
  3. Under the Create a Subdomain heading:
    • Enter the desired prefix in the Subdomain field (e.g., clients).
    • Select the primary Domain you want to associate the subdomain with from the drop-down menu.
    • The Document Root field will automatically populate with the directory where the files for this subdomain will be stored (e.g., /public_html/clients). You can change this path if you wish, but for most users, the default is recommended.
  4. Click the Create button.

Accessing and Managing Your New Subdomain

Once created, you can access the subdomain through your web browser (e.g., clients.yourdomain.com).

To add content to your subdomain, you need to upload files to its dedicated folder (the Document Root specified during creation) via the File Manager in cPanel or using an FTP account.
